We figured we would start the week off on the right foot by premiering an extremely charming new project so let's get started!
Supplies
1. Felt- We chose an off white for the flower and two shades of green for the leaves
2. Floss for Cross Stitching- For the white flower we selected a brown floss however this can be any color that fits your palette
3. Scissors- For the best results, make sure that your scissors are sharp to ensure clean, straight lines
4. Needle- Floss is thicker than thread so be sure to use a needle made for embroidery which has a larger eye
5. Large Brad- We chose a brad with copper and brown tones to match the brown floss
6. Flower and Leaf Clip Art- To create more depth we suggest using two sizes of the same flower pattern and 2 sizes of the same leaf pattern

Cut out the larger of your two flowers and using your needle, pin it to your chosen felt color. With your scissors, carefully cut around the outline of your flower. Repeat with your smaller flower as well
Thread your needle with a long length of floss and tie a knot at the end opposite the needle. Began sewing stitches, as shown above, around the perimeter of your flower. With your last stitch ending on the same side as your knot, gently tie the two ends together and trim. Repeat this step as well with your smaller flower
Position the smaller flower on top of the larger flower as shown above
Carefully fold in half and with the very tip of your scissors snip a small slit
Place the large brad through the slit and slightly expand the prongs to hold it in place

Using the needle, pin the larger leaf clip art to the green felt and cut it out. Repeat with the same size leaf and the lighter shade of green. Using the smaller leaf clip art, repeat this entire step as well
Position the leaves slightly off center from each other. Fold over the ends and just as before, with the very tip of your scissors, snip a small slit. Repeat with smaller leaves
Turn the flower face down and place the large leaves onto the brad as shown above. Repeat with the smaller leaves as well then open the brad completely so the prongs now lock all your pieces into place
And there you have it! A super charming felt flower that can serve as the ultimate diy boutonniere, an adorable accent to a bridesmaid updo, extra flair to your napkin fold...the possibilities are endless!!
